Shopping online today is very safe. Just take the following advice into account:

• Regularly update the operating system of the device you use to make purchases (computer, iPad, cell phone, etc.) and install and keep an antivirus software running. 
  
• Avoid making purchases if you connect to the Internet via a public Wi-Fi network.
  
• Check that the website where you are making your purchase has an address that begins with 'HTTPS' (not 'HTTP').
  
• In online stores that you do not yet know, before making your first purchase, check the company information by consulting the 'Who we are' section, fiscal domain, physical address, etc.
  
• Read the opinions of people who have already purchased from the online store.
  

Using one password for everything is not a safe practice. It is advisable to use a wide variety of passwords, if possible one for each website. In this way, if any of them were exposed, only the security of one website would be compromised. 

To help you manage your 'username/password' pairs, it is best to store them in a password management program, which you will access with a master password. This way, you just have to memorize a single password to access all the others, which may be as complex as you wish, because there is no risk of not remembering them. 

Biometrics is currently the safest, most convenient and most reliable authentication system to protect your account and prevent identity theft.

This identification technology uses a set of physical data specific to each person, such as a fingerprint, face or iris, which, being unique and non-transferable are very difficult to steal or falsify.

Activating your biometrics as an access method allows you to operate easily and quickly with your account, since it is not necessary to remember passwords or receive passwords by SMS with confirmation or authorization codes to carry out your operations.

Discreet mode strengthens your online security by hiding in the app, temporarily or permanently, the amounts of your accounts and the details of some products in the global position, so that you can view them with peace of mind from wherever you want.

To enable or disable discreet mode you just have to:

• Log into the app
• At the top right, tap Menu > Settings > Discreet mode
• Choose the duration you prefer to hide your information, temporary or permanent.

If you activate it temporarily your information will be hidden until you close the session. If you enable it permanently, your account totals and also the amounts of your purchases, bills or deposits, will be hidden until you disable discreet mode manually.
