What is biometrics and how does it work?
Biometrics is the identification and authentication technology, based on people's biometric data, fingerprint, face or iris, as a protection system.
With it, you can access your accounts and operate quickly without having to remember passwords or receive passwords by SMS with confirmation or authorization codes.
This is the most reliable and advanced method you can use to sign some transactions, such as opening an account, shopping online, checking your cards... and that you can activate or deactivate whenever you want from the app.
Activate your access and signature with Biometrics
In order to use your biometrics in the BBVA app, you must first register it, on your cell phone or tablet and then activate your biometric access.
You can activate your access within the app, in the "Security and Privacy" section and in "Login Methods".When you do this, you will receive a confirmation SMS for your use.
Once you have activated access, you will be able to access the app with your fingerprint, gaze or face depending on the iOS or Android operating system you have and also activate the Biometrics Signature to sign your operations quickly and securely.
Remember that if you deactivate biometric login for the app, your biometric signature will also be disabled.
