Financial brokers

People or entities that perform an economic role as mediators between savers and companies that require financing. Banks perform this brokering activity by granting loans using the funds deposited by savers. In the securities markets, mediation is carried out by investment services companies and credit institutions, and it consists, among other activities, of operating in the markets on behalf of the final investors. Before starting to provide these highly-specialised services, intermediaries must obtain the authorisation of the public supervisory bodies (Bank of Spain and CNMV) and register with them, respecting strict solvency and internal organisation requirements at all times.
