Do I have to be a BBVA client?

Yes, to request the VIA-T Card you need to have an account at BBVA.

Does it have an issue and maintenance fee?

The VIA-T device will have a “device rental and maintenance fee” of €12.50 + VAT (or the corresponding tax in your region), which will be charged every 5 years, i.e., when it is time to renew the device, or if a new device is requested due to theft or loss. A €15 credit card issuance and maintenance fee will be charged annually.

What is the credit limit of the VIA-T Card?

The limit is €100, €200, €500 or €1,000.

When do you make the payment?

The balance is paid off in full, with a single charge on the 5th of the following month.

How will I know how much I have spent?

Every month you will receive detailed information on the payments charged to your account.

How does the VIA-T card work?

On toll motorways (in Spain, France and Portugal):

The VIA-T Card is a device placed inside the windshield of your car.

When you drive through the motorway turnpike with a VIA-T lane, a reader will detect the signal emitted by the device, and you will be permitted to continue your trip without stopping your vehicle.

The payment is recorded on the credit card and charged on the 5th of the following month.

For parking lots with VIA-T scanners in Spain, you don't need to use the parking meter. The VIA-T Card will make the payment for you.
