Children's Aqua debit card

The fees for withdrawing cash with the Aqua debit card for minors are as follows:

• BBVA ATMs in Spain: 0%.
• ATMs of other banks in Spain: BBVA will charge the same fee as the owner of the ATM, which will be shown on the screen before the money is dispensed. 
• ATMs outside Spain: 4.5% (minimum €3). We will refund the fee thanks to the Pack Viajes Superior included with the card.

If your child travels to another country to study or learn languages, they will be able to use their Aqua debit card for minors and save the usual fees with the Pack Viajes. We'll tell you how:

• When paying in shops and restaurants (whenever they want)
  • In the POS terminal or dataphone, you will have to choose the payment to be made in the country's currency (for example, dollars if it is in the USA).
  • At that time your account will be debited with the exchange rate fee charged by the card brand (such as VISA or Mastercard) for the currency exchange.
  • When the transaction is completed, we will refund the currency exchange fee.
• When they withdraw cash at ATMs (up to 3 times a month)
  • They can choose any ATM to withdraw cash in another currency.
  • If the ATM asks them to apply the exchange rate, you will have to choose “no” so that we can do it from BBVA.
  • At that time, the following will be charged: the exchange rate fee applied by the card brand and the fee for withdrawing cash at the ATM applied by BBVA.
  • When the transaction is completed, we will refund both fees.
    

The ATM may charge them other fees for each transaction. Since these types of fees do not depend on BBVA, we cannot refund them.

A fee of 3% will be applied to the equivalent amount in euros for any transactions you make outside the eurozone, based on the exchange rate in effect for the payment systems on the corresponding settlement date.

Before withdrawing cash, the corresponding fees will always be displayed on the ATM screen.

We will refund the fee charged for transactions outside the eurozone thanks to the Pack Viajes Superior, which is included with your Aqua debit card for minors. 

The fees are refunded at the same time they are charged, in the account.

You can view all the activity on your purchases and withdrawals abroad, and see how much you've saved, all from the app.

The CVV (Card Verification Value) code on the debit card is used to verify that the person who owns the card is the one making the purchase. This code is usually printed on the back of the physical card. 

To add one more layer of security, all Aqua Cards feature a dynamic CVV. This code is generated for your online purchases and is only valid for 5 minutes. This way, your money is even more protected against potential fraud or cyberattacks.

The law requires us to give you this document with the pre-contractual information on the payment services of the Aqua debit card for minors to help you better understand its terms and so you can make an informed decision.

It's also important to check the PSD2 European regulation on the security of credit card payments.

You can pay with your cell phone by adding your cards to BBVA Pay by following these steps:

• Log in to the BBVA app.
• Add your cards to BBVA Pay.
• Select BBVA Pay as your payment method.

If you prefer, you can also add your cards to other wallets like Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay.
