What is renters insurance?

Renters insurance protects your belongings, provides liability coverage, and offers protection against unforeseen events in your rental home. It complements your landlord’s insurance, which is mainly focused on the building itself and basic liabilities.

When can I purchase renters insurance?

The insurance can be taken out at any time, up to 365 days (12 months) before your current insurance expires.

What requirements do I need to meet to purchase the insurance?

The property must be in Spain and meet certain requirements related to its age, construction materials, location and ownership. Both the amounts established for the building and the contents and the characteristics declared for the property must be accurate throughout the term of the policy. At the time of signing up, you must provide the complete address of the property or, if available, the land registry reference.

What do I need to do if I don’t want to renew my insurance?

You can cancel the renewal of your renters insurance at any time, as long as you do so at least one month before the annual renewal date of your policy. That way, when the renewal date arrives, it will not be processed. Just put your decision in writing and send it together with a photocopy of your National ID Card (DNI), or equivalent document to BBVA Allianz Seguros, Calle Ramírez de Arellano, 35 28043 Madrid. You can also send it to any BBVA Group branch, or to the email address seguros@bbvaseguros.es

What do I need to enroll in the BBVA Plan EstarSeguro?

To enjoy the BBVA Plan EstarSeguro, you need to sign up for the BBVA Plan EstarSeguro card, free of interest charges, fees or extra costs. Credit card subject to approval by BBVA. The BBVA Plan EstarSeguro card can only be used to pay the premiums of certain insurance policies. Offer valid until 01/31/2027, after which date it will be renewed annually, provided there are no changes in the conditions. For a transaction of €600 payable in 12 months at a nominal annual interest rate of 0%, the total amount payable would be €600 in monthly payments of €50 each; the resulting APR, annual percentage rate, will be 0%.
