Computer Science Day

What is Computer Science Day?

Computer Science Day commemorates the important role that this discipline has played worldwide during the 20th (and 21st) century, keeping people connected and allowing data and information to be sent easily between them.

When is Computer Science Day celebrated?

Computer Science Day has been held every December 9 since 1983. This date is not random, as it coincides with the birth of Grace Hopper, the first female programmer, who used the world's first electromechanical computer, the Harvard Mark I, contributing to the development of its second version: the Harvard Mark II.

Why is International Computer Security Day also celebrated?

International Computer Security Day was launched in 1988 as a result of the first case of network malware, known as the 'Morris Worm'. Launched by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), it is held on November 30 and its objective is to remind people of the obligation and/or need to protect themselves against any possible cybercrime.

How can I finance my Computer Science Day purchases?

To make it easier to purchase IT-related products, BBVA offers its customers different financing options, including the Fast Online Loan, which you can request from or the BBVA app without providing any documentation, and receive a reply within approximately 8 working hours, or the Personal Online Loan.
