How can I open an account through the BBVA app or

These are the steps you have to take to open an account through the website or on your phone.

There are four requirements to become a BBVA customer through the BBVA app or (on your computer, tablet or phone):

  1. Be of legal age (18 or older).
  2. Have a DNI or NIE number (foreigner identification number in Spain).
  3. Have your smartphone with you.
  4. 4G or Wi-Fi connection.

You can do it using a computer or tablet. The process will take between 9 and 14 minutes. Once completed, make sure that the required documentation was delivered.

  1. Go to and click on "Become a customer", located at the top right.
  2. Select the account you want to open and click on "Open your account...".
  3. Read the instructions > Start.
  4. Select the number of account holders > Next.
  5. Enter your username (it will be your DNI, NIE, TIE) and create a login password.
  6. Enter your contact details.
  7. Attach a picture of the front and back of your ID card (if you don't have it with you during the process, you can email later to:

  9. Fill in your personal details.

  11. Read the documents and sign them using the code we'll send you via SMS.

  1. Enter the BBVA app.
  2. Click on Become a customer.
  3. Choose the account you want to open > I want my account now.
  4. Read the requirements and click on Start.
  5. Enter your DNI and choose a password.
  6. Enter your email and phone number > Continue.
  7. Take a picture of your DNI, take a selfie and a video with your identity document.
  8. Answer the question on your occupation > Continue.
  9. Fill in your personal details.
  10. Read the account documents and contract.


Will you notify me when my account is operational? 

If you are a new customer and have not signed up as a customer via your cell phone (in this case, the account is operational as soon as you end the video call), you will receive an email notifying you that your account is operational and can be used immediately.

Why can I log in to with my passwords but cannot see my account number?

This is because your account is not operational yet. As soon as it is, we'll send you an email and you'll see your account number when you enter your Private Area via the global position.

How can I find out my account number even though my account is not operational?

It is indicated on your account contract.
