Find out how your carbon footprint is generated

Some of our everyday actions also contribute to greenhouse gas emissions.

A pair of imported jeans generates 6 kg of carbon dioxide

What produces these emissions?

Especially their transportation, since textiles are generally manufactured far from the point of sale. What's more, making fabrics, even if they are natural, also generates emissions.

What can you do to reduce them?

Put clothing to good use by choosing durable fabrics and being mindful of how they are sourced. To get even more from each garment, you can donate it to give it a second life or take it to a recycling center so it can be used to create new fabrics.

At BBVA, we have created the first personal carbon footprint calculator

If you are already a customer, discover how much carbon dioxide you generate with your gas, electricity and fuel consumption on the BBVA app's Sustainability Section.
