The transport by ship from another continent. In addition, growing it has a significant environmental impact since 1 kilo of avocados may need more than 1,000 liters of water and the high demand for them is leading to deforestation of jungles and forests to create more growing areas.
What can you do to reduce them?
Try to buy avocados grown in Spain as environmentally friendly as possible.
