Find out how your carbon footprint is generated

Some of our everyday actions also contribute to greenhouse gas emissions.

Manufacturing a necklace emits 400 kg of CO2

What produces these emissions?

Jewelry manufacturing has an impact due to the mining and melting of metals. Precious metals and stones are those that, due to their scarcity, are difficult to obtain. You also have to keep in mind the environmental impact that they have on some ecosystems, such as the deforestation caused by gold mining.

What actions can lower these emissions?

It's important to consider the origin of jewelry and to ensure that its components come from materials that were extracted by non-polluting methods and, in addition, in a way that is fair and socially responsible.

At BBVA, we have created the first personal carbon footprint calculator

If you are already a customer, discover how much carbon dioxide you generate with your gas, electricity and fuel consumption on the BBVA app's Sustainability Section.
