Contracting

The BBVA Online Account Without Fees only can contract through Internet: from the website or from your cell phone or tablet.

Website or tablet

Using a simple process (that takes between 9 and 14 minutes), you can become a customer today and have your account operating in just a few days. Remember that you must submit (or attach during the application process, via email or a messenger who will come to your home) the required documentation (photocopy or scanned DNI). If you open an account with two account holders, you will need to submit the documentation for both account holders.

Cell phone

If you have an Android cell phone or iPhone, you can use it to become a customer and have your account operating on the same day.

Card

If you are not yet a customer, when you open a BBVA Online Account, you also sign up for a BBVA Ahora debit card. This debit card not has cost of issuance nor fee for issuance or mantenimiento.En case of that the account has two account holders, each receive a debit card free.

If you are already a customer you can still request a debit card, but it is not included within the contract for the Online Account With No Fees.

Two account holders

If you are not yet a customer, you can open your BBVA Online Account with two account holders directly via the website. We recommend that both account holders be present during the registration process, with their respective documentation ready (DNI/TIE) and a cell phone on hand to sign the contracts via SMS.

If you are already a customer, you can also open your BBVA Online Account with two account holders during the contact process. These account holders must also be BBVA customers and must have all of their documentation completed and in order.

ATMs

BBVA's ATMs are equipped of a very advanced technology and you allow, as well as carry out cash withdrawals in ATMs (with or without card), carry out income, pay bills, consult movements…

View your account entries and account statement from our website or else on your cell phone or tablet.

You can also receive notifications by email about your card transactions and salary deposits as well as your monthly statement.

Salary, bills, and payments received

The Online Account With No Fees does not require you to have your salary directly deposited or pay any bills by direct debiting.

You also now have the option to use the BBVA app to change the direct debiting for your bills, using just a single photo. Also, from the BBVA app and website you can pay bills that are not direct debited, set up depositing of your salary, and pay your taxes.

Passbook and checkbook

The online account with no fees does not include a passbook or checkbook.

Who can contract this account?

You can contract this account and enjoy all of its benefits if you are 18 years or older, regardless of whether or not you are already a BBVA customer.

To pay no fees do I need to have my salary directly deposited or pay my bills by direct debit?

You do not need to have your salary direct deposited or pay bills by direct debit to have no fees. The BBVA Fee-Free Online Account does not have any administration or maintenance fees. Moreover if still not are customer of BBVA and contracts this account you incluímos a debit card free and without fee for issuance and maintenance of the card for every account holder.

Can I also contract this account at a branch?

The Online Account with no fees is only available for contracting through the Internet or on your tablet or cell phone.

Does this account include any type of debit or credit card?

If you are not yet a BBVA customer, when you open a BBVA Fee-Free Online Account, you also sign up for a BBVA Ahora debit card. This debit card not has fee of issuance and maintenance.

If you are already a customer, you can also request a debit card, however, it is not included in the BBVA Fee-Free Online Account contract.

If I only have this account, can I still visit and make use of the BBVA branches?

With the Online Account with no fees from BBVA, you can take advantage of all of the benefits the bank offers you: the services and conveniences offered by our app and website, and of course our branches, ATMs, and advisers as well.

Online Account + Card Contracts

We want you to become familiar with and understand the contracts and documents that are involved when you contract this account


Account contract:


What is it?

The Contract for your account specifies all of the terms and conditions that are established between BBVA and the account holder. These terms and conditions include:

  • The terms and conditions for the account (viewing the balance; withdrawing cash; managing payments, interest, fees, and overdrafts; cashing checks; etc.)
  • The conditions for the Payment services (Transfers, bills, cards, income and cash withdrawals through card in ATMs): refunding for bills, cancellation of payments or transfers, etc.
  • The duration of the contract
  • The channels of communication that exist between BBVA and the account holder, the costs of these, and the rights the account holder has to stop receiving communications.
  • The terms and conditions related to any future modifications that may be made to interest rates, fees, or commissions.
  • The various forms of contract cancellation that may be available to BBVA and to the account holder.
  • The Processing of Personal Data.
  • The right to withdrawal in cases where the account holder does not want to continue with contracting of the account.


What does it mean?

If the account holder agrees to the contents of the contract, BBVA will send a text message (SMS) to the cell phone number that the account holder has indicated during the contracting process, and this is how the contract will be accepted and signed.

Card contract:


What is it?

The Contract for your account specifies all of the terms and conditions established between BBVA and the account holder for the debit card. These terms and conditions include:

  • The terms and conditions for the card (purchasing goods and services from vendors adhering to the VISA and MasterCard systems, obtaining cash, etc.): amount of the operations, limits of use, ways of identification, fee for issuance and maintenance of the card and fees...
  • The conditions for the Payment services (Transfers, bills, cards, income and cash withdrawals through card in ATMs): refunding of bills,cancellation of payments or transfers, annual fee, commissions, etc.
  • Duration of the contract.
  • The channels of communication existing between BBVA and the account holder. You can view these in the second clause of the contract for the account.
  • The terms and conditions related to any future modifications that may be made to interest rates, fees, or commissions.
  • The various forms of contract cancellation that may be available to BBVA and to the account holder.
  • The Processing of Personal Data.
  • The right to withdrawal in cases where the account holder does not want to continue with contracting of the card.

What does it entail?

When a card is contracted, BBVA sends a text message (SMS) to the cell phone number the account holder indicated during the contracting process, and this is how the account holder agrees to everything included in the contract and signs it.

Signing a contract for a card means that the account holder is making a commitment to complying with the terms and conditions it includes:

  • Rights: to cancellation, withdrawal, data processing, communications (choosing whether or not to receive commercial notifications and communications), cash withdrawals or advances, transfers, etc.
  • Obligations: for carrying out transactions, verifying identity, safeguarding and preservation of cards, safeguarding of passwords.

What is it?

This document has 3 parts:

  • Identification of the Customer and Economic Activity Declaration (DAE in Spanish):
    • BBVA requests personal data from the account holder (name, national ID document (DNI), address, email, phone number, etc.).
    • Also, in order to comply with regulations on the prevention of money laundering and financing of terrorism, BBVA needs to know about account holder's professional activity.
  • Processing of the account holder's personal data by BBVA
    • BBVA provides information on the way the account holder's personal data will be used and the account holder's rights in relation to this.
  • Digital signature
    • BBVA also makes it possible for account holders to submit their digital signature using a tablet at a branch.

What does it entail?

It is assumed that BBVA will be able to process your data in order to communicate with you; to send you commercial offers and notify you about any events related to the products you have contracted.

  • Identification of the Customer and Economic Activity Declaration (DAE in Spanish):
    • BBVA must know about the account holder's primary source of income. For this reason the account holder must describe his or her occupation/profession in detail (an employee working for a company, self-employed, student, etc.).
    • It is important for this personal data to be accurate and kept up-to-date.
  • Processing of the account holder's personal data by BBVA
    • Among other purposes, BBVA uses the account holder's personal data to manage the contractual relationship, improve the quality and usability of its products and services, facilitate contracting of other banking products and services, and send commercial communications.
    • The account holder has a right to view his or her personal data, request its modification or deletion in some cases, revoke the consent provided, or request that its use must be limited to certain purposes.

Self-declaration of tax residence

BBVA is obliged under the tax information exchange regulations to collect tax-related information (name, date and place of birth, address, country of residence, etc.) from its customers. If this information is incomplete or incorrect the account may be frozen.
