Main features

  • Free service for retail customers.
  • To initiate the transfer request, you must have or open an account in BBVA and sign a transfer request (1)
  • The services that can be transferred are: standing orders, incoming standing orders and direct debit payments.
  • You can request for the old account to be closed prior to transferring the available balance to the new one, free of charge.
  • We'll take care of requesting the necessary information from the bank where the account is held.
  • Once we receive the information, we will take care of:
    • Establishing standing orders from your account and executing them starting from the date specified in the authorization.
    • Accepting direct debit charges starting from the date specified in the request. 
    • Notifying the payers of your incoming standing orders.
    • Notifying the payees of direct debits.
    • We can provide letter templates to use if you decide to provide the information to the payers of transfers and the payees of direct debits yourself.
  • The old account must have a sufficient balance until the entire process is complete.

(1) All the holders of the account to be transferred must provide their signature.

How can I make the request?

  • Download the following authorization form, complete and sign the application and hand it in at your BBVA branch.
  • In the form you must specify:
    • The IBAN of the source account.
    • The IBAN of the destination account.
    • The services that you wish to transfer, the options to be executed by the bank where you hold the account (the source account supplier) and the options to be executed by BBVA (the recipient account supplier).
    • The transfer execution date, which cannot be less than 13 business days from the date the request is delivered.
    • The full name, tax ID numbers (NIF) and signatures of all the account holders.

  • You must specify the transfer execution date in the form.

Main features

  • Free service for retail customers who wish to open an account abroad within the European Union.
  • We will provide you a list, free of charge, of all the outgoing and incoming standing orders in force, as well as of all the direct debits charged to the account, in the past thirteen months.
  • You can request a transfer of the remaining balance of your account to the payment account in the destination country and the cancellation of the account. To do so, you must include the corresponding IBAN. Remember that to close the account, it is a requirement to not have any outstanding obligations charged to that payment account. We will inform you when outstanding obligations prevent the account from being closed.
