What is the courier service used in the BBVA online customer registration process and how does it work?

We'll explain what the courier service is and how we use it to register BBVA online customers.

What is a courier:

A courier is one of the ways to identify new customers. This identification procedure allows us to confirm the identity of the account holder before the account becomes operational. The courier is a person employed by one of the courier companies that works with BBVA. This person is responsible for checking that you are the account holder.

How the courier service works when registering to become a BBVA customer online:
  • If you have chosen the "Courier" option, at the end of the process you'll be shown a phone number on the screen so that you can contact the courier company that works with BBVA.
    • If, for some reason, you have not been able to contact the courier company to arrange an appointment, the company will call you on your cell phone to try to set a date and time to collect your documents.
  • You have to make appointment at the address you provide and they will drop by to pick up your documentation.
  • After checking the details provided, you will receive an email and a text message on your cell phone to notify you that your account is fully operational and can be used to make deposits and withdrawals. You will also be able to access your global position to check your card issue status.
